A Heavenly Celebration!

Today is my Granny's first birthday in Heaven and I smile thinking about what a celebration it must be! How fitting that this 1st birthday without her here follows Easter weekend! There have been so many moments just in the last week that I wish I could call and talk to her about...To vent about my students, to tell her we are back waiting after another mom chose someone else, and to discuss my baby sister getting married!! She would have so much to say to all of us where we are...to not worry, it'll happen (jobs, babies, engagements...) She would say-no sense in staying down about something you can't change so pick yourself up and get busy enjoying life!

As I think about that-enjoying life-I think back to the resurrection that we just celebrated on Sunday and what a life we can enjoy because of hope in the resurrection! The last couple of weeks, I was pretty down-we heard the 6th mom chose another family, I had to witness a dad being beyond rough with a student at school (heartbreaking to say the least!), and read about another student writing abouta time he tried to commit suicide. It seemed I was surrounded by darkness and was overhwelmed by it! The Lord was faithful to remind me that "Sunday's Coming!"  Despite the darkness and death that Good Friday brought, Sunday brings the resurrection! I am so thankful for the grace in that despite our darkest and hardest days, God resurrects them to bring life! Our hope is found in Christ alone, and I know that the "Sunday" of bringing our baby home is coming!

So I'm sure you're wondering what exactly is going on in bringing home baby watson news...
I've written a couple of times about an expectant mom choosing another family and some of you are wondering how our process is even working...

We are using Christian Adoption Services and couldn't be more grateful!  Our consultant is there for us to walk us through each step and encourage us with such godly wisdom. We receive emails of expectant mom "situations"that detail information on the mother of our potential baby. They tell us background information, health information, due date and gender if known, and any communication requests the expectant mother has pre and post adoption. We decide if we would like to present our profile book to that mom to potentially be chosen as parents! We have now done this a total of 6 times, 5 times that our no was another family's yes, and once that the mom decided to parent! It has been exhausting to say the least, because each time, we write a new letter to the expectant mother on our desire to parent and the level of communication we will commit to. It has definitely been cool to see the way the Lord has opened our hearts to an open adoption, and I'll write more on that later!

Where exactly are we now? What better way to celebrate my Granny's birthday than to share with you that we will have our profile presented to another mom today! (well I guess a better way to celebrate would be with a match, but hey, one step at a time trusting the Lord!) Please pray with us today, expectantly that this could be our Yes! We usually hear back in 3-7 days about the mom's decision so I will keep you posted when we hear!

What are we doing in the meantime...I continue to try to teach and pour love into my kids at school (I'm also helping coach JV softball so that's been fun!). Brett is busy with work, and we continue to plan for our  baby's arrival =) Beacuse we can be matched with an expectant mom any day (hopefully extremely soon!) we need to have the funds for the adoption. We have been extremely blessed by friends, family and my home town as they support us financially and in prayer. We were able to lower our youcaring goal amount from $30,000 to $20,000! We still need to raise about $15,000 so paryerfully consider supporting us in that way. Visit https://www.youcaring.com/brett-and-shea-watson-502755 to donate!!

I'm on Spring Break, so doing a little cleaning and netflix watching =) Praying you have a great week and that we can all find something to celebrate today!

"Their Hearts are Steadfast, Trusting in the Lord"

A verse I had no idea would grow to mean so much to me! I wrote this post over a week ago now, just late posting! July 21, 2015 One month-It has been exactly one month since I've seen and talked to my Granny.  I have thought about what I have wanted to write in this post a million times, and a million times more have wanted to sit down and write it, but never could bring myself to do so. Well, I got my hair cut yesterday and all I could hear is my Granny saying, "Your Papa would be maaadd at you" and "Nooo you didn't cut it off". And again this morning, as I made my coffee, I am laughing at the last time I fixed coffee for my Granny. It was the week of June 15th and I was staying with her. I made coffee for myself and convinced her to try it.  It was way  too strong (Thank you Keurig for taking away my ability to make coffee in a regular pot). Granny responded with "oooo that's bitter" but then came the "it'll be alright...just a...

Seeing Pink : Feelings/Fears Finding out + Being an advocate for yourself

November 14, 2019 18 weeks  pregnant…12 weeks  + 2 days longer than my first pregnancy. 14 weeks + 2 days  since seeing those two pink lines for the second time in my life, for the first time without fertility intervention. And the first time I’ve been able to sit down and try to gather and write out thoughts and try to wrap my head around all the work the Lord has done (and continues to do) in my heart during this pregnancy. While these words will be raw and confusing and hard and joyful, I want to have them to look back on as a tangible reminder of this season and of the Father’s pursuit of my heart. I also want to share them because while no two stories are the same, I know there may be someone with whom this will resonate, and prayerfully encourage! Part 1: Feelings/Fears Finding out + Being an advocate for yourself It was the first full cycle post endometriosis and a d&c (to check uterus for infection) when we found out we were pregnant. And...
